First New England’s Wide Pine is Manufactured to Exact Specifications.

* Or sawmill only produces Premium and Better Wide Pine, though our Siding Products are produced in both NELMA Standard and Premium Grades. All of our pine is graded twice at the sawmill, once at the head saw and again after kiln drying.

* Our Pine is Air Dried for a minimum of 90 days and up to one year. It is   then Kiln Dried to equalize the moisture content and set the pitch. This allows for a much more stable floor, preventing cupping and twisting, something we have been doing since we started producing Wide Pine.

* Our Wide Pine flooring is first Straight Line Ripped to insure that it is straight before milling and when it arrives to the customer’s location. It is also graded again for appearance and knot structure.

* Our Wide Pine is then Planer Surfaced on two sides to flatten each board prior to molding and to proof the grade.

* Our Wide Pine is then Molded where the edge profile is applied, normally an Offset Tongue and Groove, and the top and bottom of each board is surfaced to provide an exact fit when installed.

* Our Wide Pine is then packaged to meet customer specifications.
